Paradise Now (Vol3)

11.7.24 – 28.11.24
“Paradise Now” is an ongoing video and sound work that unfolds across different screening formats.
Fluid landscapes, in perpetual morph and volatility, recall the delicacy of ancient ink etchings while succumbing to sudden, unforeseen transformations. These images originate from scans of coffee stains lifted from Slavin’s espresso machine — accidental, otherworldly landscapes imprinted at the bottom of cups — which he then reanimates with AI technology into sequences of motion data.
At the forefront, a projection reveals a flickering, holographic figure draped in slow-motion swirls. The figure evokes the aura of a shaman, resonating with both Jewish and Christian iconographies, while simultaneously echoing the spectral presences of Sci-Fi epics such as Star Wars. It bears the name NoveryOne — a compound of “no one” and “everyone” — serving as an AI-oracle avatar of the artist. Suspended in a realm of meta-time, this entity navigates the thresholds between human spirituality and technology, inhabiting a supernatural virtual dimension.
